One must make a distinction however: when dragged into prominence by half poets, the result is not poetry, nor till the autocrats among us can be “literalists of the imagination”—above insolence and triviality and can present for inspection, imaginary gardens with real toads in them, shall we have it.

Open Link Monday

Welcome to the Imaginary Garden ...

Greetings to all poets on this Monday. The weeks are speeding by with the year already half gone. Sometimes it seems impossible to find time to catch one's breath and relax. I hope that our Open Link provides some opportunity to pause for reflection, to enjoy the creative writing of others, very like ourselves, who steal a few moments from a busy schedule to express themselves in poetry. In our common environment we are here to share, support and learn and call it time well spent.

Kerry, your photo is more splendid than ever. I didn't write Kay's prompt yesterday, but pulled up this oldie with her spiders in mind.

Happy week everybody,
I'm taking another look at beauty today: what it is and what it isn't. [with a little bit of help from a friend].Just hoping that the beholder stays out of it.

Gorgeous photo! Back to historical poetry for me today. This is an example of a poem that I would have never wrote it not for a challenge prompt!

Hey Kerry! Hope all is well with you. I'm sorry I've been dealing with a lot of jobwork and have not been able to participate in all the interesting prompts. You guys always keep it interesting! k.

Hi Kerry ~~ Today, as usual, you have picked a great photo for the Garden spot here. Thank you for it and for posting this nice meetingplace.

... 'time well spent.' That's what coming to the Garden is all about. Whether it's to contribute, comment, read ... or all of the above.

It's too rainy for my garden, but not for the Imaginary one, so I'm linking in today. I'll be by to read and visit after chores.

May I once again point out to Leovi that this is not a photography blogsite. Your link has been removed.

Hi kids, found something back in the stacks from 2010 I had forgotten about. Very tired today, staying home and will make the rounds throughout the day. Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Kerry, late in. Been noticing a lot of 'spam' on folks sites the last few days (like the one above). Guess will have to activate moderated comments again. Every garden has its pests, I suppose. ~ M

I removed the PEST! I am running a bit behind and will visit all the poetry later tonight. Moved my daughter into her dorm at school (summer JOB at college) and off to a horse lesson in a little bit.
