The Tuesday Platform

Welcome to the Imaginary Garden ...

Source Unknown

Greetings to all friends, poets, frogs and toads! If you have poetry - new or old - to share, then you have come to the right pond. Let us share our words and our thoughts in the spirit of freedom and friendship across the miles.

Happy Independence Day to those bloggers who celebrated yesterday, and many thanks to Sherry Blue Sky for sharing the "All Others Will be Toads" picture.

We had a Federal (i.e. national) election at the weekend. The result is still uncertain, as it was very close. But at the time I wrote my poem, it looked as if the party I don't want in power would get it – and they still might.

Ha! Love the pic! Last night while my kids and I let off small fireworks on the drive, we made friends with 2 toads who were "parked" there! :-)

Am struggling with depression, and haven't been able to write anything, in almost 2 weeks. I know, why I am suffering depression, right now, as it's one of my two yearly periods, which major traumatic events have occurred, in my life. As last Friday (July 1st), marks the 10th anniversary of my mom's rejection of me, as her trans-daughter, and the resulting month, I was suicidal afterwards. My independence came, at a heavy price, but one, I would pay, if I had to, again.

I almost got 'toad' away, instead my little ditty is 'craning' away.
You are better at puns than I am, for sure.

Anniversaries of past events do cause depression...I fight it off by writing words lately that force me to think beyond the pain..not a ditty, but a froggy moment nevertheless.

Love the new paint on the place Kerry. I am working on my own independence. I finally am able to write about it.
